9601 Courthouse Road, Vienna, VA
I-66 to Nutley St (VA-243) exit North;
3rd light L at Courthouse Rd;
L into park entrance.
Pederson Park (T&F practice site) at intersection of Malcolm/Vale Rd.
I-66 to Nutley St (VA-243) exit North; go north of 123, then make a left on Orchard. Park is straight ahead at the stop sign. Parking is tight so park along Malcolm/Vale as a quicker alternative for dropping off/picking up.
Marshall HS (T&F Practice site)
7731 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22043
Take Rt. 7 inside the beltway, school is on the right. Go around the school to the right and park to the far right of the lot. We have access to the community use gate at the far right of the lot, so that is the best place to enter/exit the stadium.
We will meet near the corner of the end zone closest to the parking lot nearest this gate opening.
PG Sports Plex: take Beltway (probably through Montgomery Co is better) to Rt 202 exit 17B Make a left onto Brightseat Road.
Go straight at the light at Sheriff Road. the road will curve around to the left to park on the far side of the sportsplex
for Thursday/Friday events: you can go straight to the complex by making a right onto Sheriff and then Make left at the first light (Harvey Drive). Drive up the hill onto the grounds of the Complex. Track is on the right.
SYA Field of Dreams: (6626 Bull Run Post Office Rd, Centreville, VA)
take I-66 to Exit 52 (Route 29) at Centreville, drive 2 miles south Turn right onto Bull Run Post Office Road. Follow Bull Run Post Office Road for a couple of miles. Look to your left for the gravel parking lot for Field of Dreams. When you pull in, turn to the right and the fields will be in front of you. Please be aware that Bull Run Post Office Road is a curvy road so allow time to get there safely. Start line is towards the left.
Madison HS (occasional practice site for x-c and track):
2500 James Madison Dr, Vienna VA 22181
I-66 to Nutley St (VA-243) exit North;
4th light L at Maple St (VA-123); make a right just after the Shell station and go around the right side of the school and the track is just after teh baseball field
of coming from the west get off I-66 at 123 and then make a left at Flint Hill Rd;
2nd R at Sunrise Rd.
Oakton HS:
I-66 to Nutley St (VA-243) exit North;
1st light L at Virginia Center Blvd;
At dead end, cross Sutton Rd into parking.
Marshall Road ES (former T&F practice site)
I-66 to Nutley St (VA-243) exit North;
right at first light, if parking make first right and park in the front of the school and walk around to the back
If you are dropping off, then make the next right and drop off right next to the park.
Rain Policy
We hold practice and run in the rain. So a drizzle/misting or light rain will not cancel practice. Meets are held in those conditions, so learning how to deal with some adversity is a good thing to prepare for. However, if it is a heavy downpour we will not have practice. Head Coach Craig Chasse or another coach will be at the practice location to make a decision about cancelling practice due to impending thunder. If lightning strikes nearby, we will immediately leave the track and their parents' or responsible adults' cars. We will wait 30 minutes after the last thunder clap or lightning strike to resume practice (if time permits, we will resume practice outside.) So a thunderstorm at 5pm will likley cancel practice as typically takes a storm 30-60 minutes to clear the area. We generally will not send an email out about this as we are already on site or will wait until the last moment to decide to cancel as weather around here is very unpredictable and we don't want to cancel prematurely.
